In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. The TEDxCSU conference gives diverse local speakers the opportunity to present an original idea in a 10-15 minute talk, in the spirit of the TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) mission to promote “ideas worth spreading.” This year’s theme, “Expand Your Perspective,” allows speakers to create change and inspire people within the Fort Collins and campus communities.
FoCo Cafe is listed as one of speakers. Tickets for the 2013 Colorado State University TEDxCSU conference, set for 1 p.m. March 2 in the Lory Student Center Theatre, are on sale now. Tickets are free for students and $16 for community members. Click on the link for more details.
